Most fill in the blank Spanish exercises have the same problem. Someone else wrote the sentences, the topic has nothing to do with you, and after twenty gaps you can't tell whether you know the word or just remember the answer key.
In Fluenvo you start from your own text. Paste a news article, a page of a novel, a song, an email from your tutor, a chapter you were going to read anyway. The app builds exercises from the sentences in that text, with gaps in the words and forms that matter at your level.
Try Fluenvo with your own text →Gaps in context. A sentence from the text with a word missing, so you see how the word really behaves: which preposition follows it, which tense fits, which ending. This is where verbs like ser and estar, or the subjunctive, start to feel natural, because you meet them in a sentence you have just read.
Vocabulary from the text. Words from your own reading, in new sentences, with the meaning in your language.
Reading comprehension. True, false or not mentioned, and questions you answer in your own words. Useful when you want to find out whether you understood the text or only recognized the words.
Grammar and collocations. Exercises on the structures that appear in the text, and on words that go together naturally.
You do not always get the same set. The app picks the types for each text and your level, and it takes into account the topics where you make the most mistakes.
People look for graded readers and "short stories for beginners" because they want material at their level. Fluenvo works with the text you already have. If a story is too hard, pick a shorter one. If it is too easy, move up. A practical rule: if you understand the main idea and miss a few words per sentence, the text is in the right zone.
We tested it with a three-sentence Spanish paragraph and asked only for fill in the blank exercises:
"Es importante que los estudiantes lean todos los días. Aunque el texto sea difícil, no hace falta entender cada palabra. Cuando terminé el libro, quería que mi hermana lo leyera también, pero ella estaba ocupada con el trabajo."
The app detected B1 and built two exercises.
Pronouns, 2 gaps. Before the gaps you get a short rule: unstressed pronouns go before a conjugated verb and attach to an infinitive, a gerund or an affirmative command, and le becomes se before lo, la, los, las. There is a solved example (Lo leí y se lo di a mi hermana), then your two sentences from the text.
Pick the right word, 2 gaps. A sentence from the text with a gap and four options. For Aunque el texto sea difícil, no ___ entender cada palabra the options are hace falta, hay que, tiene que and sirve. You choose from real alternatives that a learner might confuse.
The rule and the example come first, so the exercise teaches while you answer.
Read the text once before you touch the exercises, even if you miss a few words. Then answer without looking back, because guessing from memory is the part that trains you. When the app marks something wrong, read the whole sentence again and ask what gave the answer away: a preposition, a time word, a subject. That habit is worth more than the score, and it carries over to every text you read afterwards. If you keep missing the same kind of gap, treat it as a signal and pick a text where that structure appears often.
When you miss something, the app does not just say "wrong". Fluenvo keeps track of the topics where you make most mistakes and shows them on a separate screen, so you can pick one and keep practicing it on your next texts. If the subjunctive keeps catching you, you will see it in a list instead of carrying it around as a vague feeling.
New words can be saved to your personal dictionary and reviewed later.
Learners who already read Spanish and want to get more out of it. People preparing for an exam who need practice with texts at their own level. Anyone tired of generic worksheets about topics they do not care about.
It is not for someone who wants a closed course with lessons in a fixed order. The starting point here is always a text you bring.
